Virtual Auditions Announced for Casting of 2021 Medora Musical

Virtual auditions now open for the 56th edition of the Medora Musical.

(Medora, ND) StageWest Entertainment Inc. in conjunction with the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, is pleased to announce virtual auditions for the 2021 Season of the Medora Musical  which has now entertained over four million people since its first showing in 1965.

This Medora Musical opens in a week and a half and is full of high-caliber entertainment and top-notch performers from across the nation!

Meet the cast of this year’s Medora Musical!

Hosts Chet Wollen and Bill Sorensen to lead star-studded Medora Musical cast made up of returning talent, new performers, and several North Dakota natives!

Each year thousands of performers audition at locations in North Dakota, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Florida to find the best talent for the Medora Musical. So let’s meet the cast!

The 2019 Medora Musical, Hosts

Chet Wollan, a Medora favorite is back to host the Medora Musical. Chet (pictured above) is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota but now lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with Princess of the Prairie, Candice Lively Wollan. 

This will be Chet’s fourth year hosting the Medora Musical and his 13th year starring in the show. 

Bill Sorensen will return to the Medora Musical for his “final ride” co-hosting. Bill has been performing in Medora for the past 40 years as a magician, comedian, and entertainer. Don’t miss this dynamic duo together on stage this summer!

We’d like you to meet the “Greatest Cast in the West!”

Here they are! 

Hailing from Minneapolis, MN, Cowboy Chet is thrilled to be back in the saddle again on the Medora stage as Host for a second summer! After touring the country on Troupe America’s National tour of Pump Boys and Dinettes (Jim), he is once again ready to spend the summer in the beautiful badlands of North Dakota. Previously, he has been seen in the national tours of Miracle on 34th Street, Ring of Fire, and Live From Nashville. He has also spent several years performing at Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, TN, where he met his wife, Candice. Chet would like to thank his family for their continued support! Enjoy the show!

You’ve got to be a Jack or Jane of all trades when you are a Burning Hills Singer. For many, the work doesn’t start and stop on the stage of the Medora Musical. Read what Misti Koop has to say about working all the livelong day in Medora!

Most of us work a second job, so this schedule helps to shape our weeks here in Medora. Many of us sing a set each week at the Chuckwagon Patio, and our Coal Diggers accompany us as well as play 6 nights a week up at the Pitchfork Steak Fondue!
