United States Mint to Launch America the Beautiful Quarters Coin Honoring Theodore Roosevelt National Park
A National Park Service Centennial Event
MEDORA, ND – The United States Mint will join the National Park Service (NPS) to celebrate the release of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program coin honoring Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The event also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the National Park Service on August 25, 1916. Festivities will take place on Thrusday, August 25 at the park’s Painted Canyon Visitor Center at 10:00 a.m. MDT.
Highlights of the event include a coin exchange where the public can trade cash for $10 rolls of newly minted Theodore Roosevelt National Park quarters. Children under 18 will each receive a new quarter, courtesy of the U. S. Mint. School children will have the opportunity to join rangers in creating NPS Centennial murals which will be displayed in park visitor centers
