Medora Musical Variety Acts Selected, Kat Perkins Camp and Concert Return, Summer Concerts Announced

Four variety acts, three concerts and two music festivals bring world-class, nationally known entertainment to Medora and the Burning Hills Amphitheatre.

(Medora, ND) – The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) is excited to announce the 2018 Medora Musical Variety Acts and summer concert lineup.

The 2018 Medora Musical will feature a new, “family” theme used to tell the story of Theodore Roosevelt and the American West. This year’s Featured Variety Acts will follow right along with that theme – bringing great, family-friendly variety entertainment to the second half of each night’s Medora Musical.

Three comedians — including notable returner, Kermit Apio — will be joined by a renowned jump rope acrobatic stunt team, Flight Crew — who received rave reviews and standing ovations during their time in Medora in 2016.

Guests can see the Medora Musical Featured Variety Acts during the dates below:

Comedian Tuey Wilson | June 1 – June 21
Tuey has performed for numerous clients, some of which include: Thirty Seconds to Fame, FOX TV and in legendary Branson, Missouri!

Comedian John Cassidy | June 22 – July 16
Holder of several Guinness World Records and creator of jokes that’ll leave you crying! John has been a guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, NBC’s Today Show, and Live With Regis and Kelly!

Flight Crew Acrobatic Stunt Team | July 17 – August 12
A professional jump rope stunt team made up of the greatest jumpers in the US! Flight Crew were semi-finalists on the hit TV show, America’s Got Talent in 2014.

Comedian Kermit Apio | August 13 – September 8
This fan-favorite comedian from 2014 returns to Medora! Kermit is the winner of the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival and has had numerous appearances on television and radio.

THE 2018 MEDORA SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

TRMF has also finalized its 2018 summer concert lineup, which includes fan favorites, stars of tomorrow, and tributes to some of the biggest bands in rock ‘n roll history.

Medora’s summer concert lineup is as follows:

LEGENDS featuring Kat Perkins from TheVoice
Featuring music from Kat’s favorite country, rock, pop, and original song lists.
June 30  –  3:00pm MDT  –  Burning Hills Amphitheatre
With opening artists from the Kat Perkins Badlands Rising Star Camp

On the Border – The Ultimate Eagles Tribute
The Greatest EAGLES Tribute Band in the World” as named by AXS TV!
July 9 – 7:30pm MDT –  Burning Hills Amphitheatre

1964 The Tribute
Dubbed “The Best Beatles Tribute on Earth” by Rolling Stone Magazine
August 20  – 7:30pm MDT –  Burning Hills Amphitheatre

Kat had this to say about returning to Medora with her brand-new concert, LEGENDS, “I’m excited to return to my roots once again and offer a new experience this summer with my concert. I’ve put together a show called “Legends” that is all of my favorite artists and features the songs that shaped who I am as an artist today.”

Attendees at Kat’s June 30 concert can expect a set list that will showcase Kat’s vocal talents at their finest.

TRMF Marketing and Communications Director, Justin Fisk says, “Anyone that saw Season 6 of TheVoice knows Kat was made to belt out rock ballads — but when you hear her cover a country tune from say, Patsy Cline, you know she has the range to sing just about anything. And it’s her incredible voice and energy that’ll be on display at the Burning Hills Amphitheater this summer with her new Legends show.”

Kat is also excited to work with talented young artists from across the country during the Kat Perkins Badlands Rising Star Camp.

“It’s 100% gratifying to foster young, up and coming talented artists that we bring to Medora from across the country. I’m grateful to be able to give them a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase their talents in the Burning Hills Amphitheatre.”

MORE TO ADORE IN MEDORA THANKS TO JOHN ANDRIST

In addition to the paid Medora entertainment options taking place all summer long, TRMF will put on two free music festivals, play host to over a dozen artists from around the region as part of its Artist in Residency Program and curate other free entertainment through the summer such as Burning Hills Singers Patio sets in downtown Medora.

These free entertainment options are made possible by the creation of The Andrist Family Endowment for the Performing Arts — named after legendary newspaper man and former TRMF Board member, John Andrist.

The two music festivals are free and open to the public, and are as follows:

A festival in honor of John Andrist
July 6 & 7
Andrist Stage and Elaine Andrist Wind Garden

Wade Westin Music Fest
September 1 & 2
Town Square Patio, Downtown Medora

If individuals would like to contribute to The Andrist Family Endowment for the Performing Arts, they can contact TRMF Business Officer, Joslyn Reichert at 701-223-4800.

Summer concert tickets will be available April 23 at Medora.com.
