World-renowned performers back by popular demand and joined by two exciting acts!
(Medora, ND) The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF), operator of the Medora Musical, announced today three variety acts that will perform during the 2014 season. The three selected acts are:
Cirque Zuma Zuma – Back by popular demand!
A crowd favorite from the 2013 Medora Musical, this African circus act will amaze audiences with rhythmic dance, thrilling music, and show-stopping acrobatics. Cirque Zuma Zuma was a finalist on America’s Got Talent. The group has been described as an African-style Cirque du Soleil. Critics and audiences in North America, Europe and Australia all agree – Cirque Zuma Zuma is unlike anything seen before.
Cirque Zuma Zuma will perform
June 6 through July 6*.
(Corrected: a previous version of this news stated that Cirque Zuma Zuma would perform June 6 – September 6. The above date is correct.)
Jeff Nease
One of America’s leading stand-up comedians, performing worldwide and entertaining audiences of all ages, Jeff Nease leaves ‘em laughing. After becoming a finalist in New York’s National Lampoon’s Comedy Play-Offs, audiences began to take notice of Jeff’s unique comedy style. Not only was Jeff thriving as a stand-up comedian, he also founded ‘The Improvables’, an improvisational group that gave his act the spontaneous edge audiences love. Soon Jeff was teaching improv to professional groups and corporate officers. In addition to regularly headlining in Las Vegas and performing across the United States and
Canada, you may recognize him from his many TV appearances on such networks as HBO, Comedy Central, PBS or his various commercial works. He has also worked with such
legends as Jim Carrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Tim Allen, as well as opening concerts for such groups as The Temptations.
Jeff Nease will perform July 7 through August 6.
Chicago Boyz
The Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team is a professional gymnastics troupe consisting of talented young men and boys from the Chicagoland area. Their performance includes amazing
acrobatic stunts and tricks inside twirling jump ropes, catapulting off mini trampolines and thundering tumbling routines with impeccable timing. Founded in 1999 by professional gymnast Tim Shaw, these young inner city youth are taught discipline, respect, hard work, integrity and teamwork. Members must maintain a “C” average in school, are not
allowed to drop out of school, associate with gangs, drugs, alcohol or tobacco. Through Tim’s positive impact, many kids have not only become professional polished gymnasts, but turned their lives around in the process.
The Chicago Boyz will perform August 7 through September 6.
Justin Fisk, TRMF Marketing Director comments, “Our returning variety act, Cirque Zuma Zuma, was so overwhelming well received by attendees in the Amphitheatre and on social media last year that we had to bring them back – attendees told us we had to!
“Additionally,” he continues, “over 91% of guests surveyed after last year’s show gave our comedian act their highest, or second highest rating, so we are really excited to see this year’s comic, Jeff Nease, get our guests laughing.”
Medora Musical Amphitheatre Manager, Kinley Slauter adds, “Every year we try to book a fun mix of variety acts that complement the entertainment of the Medora Musical really well, and this year I think attendees will really see and enjoy that mix.”
The individual variety acts perform during the second half of the Medora Musical program, every night throughout the season. The 2014 Medora Musical runs every night at 7:30pm MDT from June 6 to September 6.

Thank you for the Medora musical itinerary we are planning on attending one of them this summer, again thank you
The Variety Acts look great! Glad I’ll get to see two of them this summer!!
Which two are you going to see Marlene?
You are very welcome Mike!
Cirque Zuma Zuma should be a big hit with our family reunion attendees (young and old) while we are gathering this June in Medora. Lookin forward to another great musical this year because Medora never disappoints!
I saw the Chicago Boyz last time I was in the States and they were absolutely fantastic. Do you know if they plan on touring Australia at all? I have shown my boys some of their You Tube vids and they would love to see them live. Cheers, Eve
Are the variety acts part of the musical or seperate? Hoping they are part of it!
Anjanette, we contract the variety acts out every year. We have three per summer, here is this summer’s schedule http://blog.medora.com/medora-musical-variety-acts-announced/ All of our variety acts perform during the intermission portion of the Musical. After their performance, the Musical continues. Hope this helps!
Our family loves coming to Medora and attending the musical! It has been a tradition for around the last 40 years. This past weekend, our family went to the Colorado Renaissance Festival where we saw many great acts. Check out The London Broil (http://www.thelondonbroilshow.com/). We think they would be a great act to consider bringing to the musical.
