(Medora, ND) – The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation alongside Kat Perkins, former Medora Musical standout and semi-finalist on NBC’s The Voice, are pleased to announce that Kat will be returning to the stage of the Medora Musical for one of her select 2016 North Dakota concerts at 3:30 p.m. MDT on June 25.

Kat’s very first performance following her popular run on The Voice took rocked the stage in Medora, selling out both of her shows there in 2014. She returned in 2015 with the most popular show of last summer — and concert organizers expect the same high-demand for this summers concert.

This year’s concert will feature new music — including a brand-new single — a few fan-favorite songs and some classic rock hits. However, the biggest change from previous shows, opening for Kat this year will be the inaugural participants in Kat’s brand new “Badlands Rising Star Music Camp.”

Camp participants will be selected from a group of auditionees ages 12 – 18 from around the nation. Those selected for the 4 day camp will get vocal coaching from Kat and her influential teachers, get a one-of-a-kind experience Badlands, and, most importantly, receive mentorship on how to succeed in the music business from the one and only, Kat Perkins.

Kat Perkins says, “Our young people are nothing short of incredible. They are fearless, not afraid to show passion and emotion, and my goal is to use this camp to help stoke that fire and ignite their love for music.”

The camp culminates in a once-in-a-lifetime experience where the campers get the opportunity to open, Kat’s concert on June 25.

“It’s truly a magical place.” Kat says when asked why Medora in The Badlands of North Dakota is the location of the camp. “When we started looking at possible locations, I couldn’t picture it anywhere else. Nightly campfire sing-alongs with incredible sunsets, and the buttes, how would you ever top that experience? Plus the Burning Hills Amphitheatre is one-of-a-kind and the facilities in Medora for the campers are top-notch.
