TRMF launches new Medora marketing campaign; debuts new user-friendly website; announces change to Medora Musical starting time
The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) unveiled its new marketing campaign for Medora today; it is the first new campaign in many years for North Dakota’s number one vacation destination. The new campaign’s theme is: “Explore It. Adore It. Medora.” It replaces the previous campaign, created several years ago, that urged visitors to “Spend a Day in Medora.”
“Our old campaign was successful but was created to meet our needs at that time,” says TRMF President Randy Hatzenbuhler. “Medora has changed. Our new campaign reflects Medora’s evolution. There is so much to see and explore that we don’t want people to just spend a day in Medora, we want them to at least spend the night, and ideally, spend a few days.”
Adding that more and more people are discovering Medora each year, and thousands more make an annual visit to the community, Hatzenbuhler said the new campaign was created to capitalize on the complete Medora experience, whether it is the region’s history, the family-friendly entertainment, the rugged beauty of the North Dakota Badlands or world-class golf at the Bully Pulpit golf course.
New start time for the Medora Musical
Hatzenbuhler also announced one major change to Medora’s landmark draw, the Medora Musical. The starting time for the show has been moved up by one hour, to 7:30 PM Mountain time. Hatzenbuhler says the change was made in order to better accommodate visitors from the Central time zone and, especially, visitors with young children. “We have been sharing the new 7:30 PM start time with groups and the response has been unanimous in supporting the change,” says Hatzenbuhler.
Medora.com gets full revamp
Today’s campaign announcement coincides with the launch of the newly redesigned Medora website. According to Hatzenbuhler, the site has been revamped from top to bottom with an eye towards user-friendliness. The site is designed to be more than a “one-stop shop” for visitors looking for information on Medora; it is designed to allow users to book reservations and plan their entire Medora trip. The site features a new “My Medora” function that allows visitors to create a list of things to see and do on their trip. The function is accompanied by a Google map and also provides an updated daily schedule of events in Medora for each day. A new mobile site is also available for smart phone users and is optimized for easy use while in Medora.
New print advertisements will start running within the next two weeks and new television, radio and online advertisements will debut later this spring.
“Really, our visitors created this campaign theme,” says Hatzenbuhler. “They told us Medora’s appeal is varied and that there are many ways to explore it. And they also told us they love Medora. Explore it. Adore it. Medora. We are very excited about this new campaign.”
