Members of the Coal Diggers Band, Shawn Oban of Rift, Lauren Weber, Steven Lasiter, Emily Walter, Madi Smith and Sloan Hanson also scheduled to perform
5th annual Wade Westin Music Fest will be held at the Burning Hills Amphitheatre in Medora on Sunday, September 1 at 2:00 p.m. MDT. The annual event is held in honor and memory of Wade Westin, who was a Burning Hills Singer and host of the Medora Musical for seven seasons. Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation president Randy Hatzenbuhler said it will be especially fun to have Wade’s two children, Hannah, 8, and Wyatt, 7, performing at the Music Fest.
The show is free to the public and goodwill gifts are welcomed. This year, at the recommendation of the Westin family all money raised will go to benefit Christus Rex Lutheran Campus Center in Grand Forks, where Wade was very active during his time at the University of North Dakota.
The concert lineup is a fun mix of professional and local talent that includes:
- Members of the Coal Diggers Band
- Hannah and Wyatt Westin
- Shawn Oban, Mandan (Member of Bismarck band Rift)
- Lauren Weber, Burning Hills Singer
- Steve Lasiter, Burning Hills Singer
- Emily Walter, Host of the Medora Musical
- Madi Smith, Canada
- Sloan Hanson, Williston (Winner of the 2013 Williston Teddy Talent Trek)
The Music Fest is also the beginning of the final week of the 2013 Medora Musical season, which runs through September 7.
