Summer concert series on the stage of the Medora Musical features:
Sebastian, Tigirlily, and Jessie Veeder
(MEDORA, ND) – North Dakota’s very first “Star of The Voice,” Gwen Sebastian, is set to headline Medora’s first Country Music Concert Series when she takes the stage on July 4. The Hazen duo, Tigirlily, opens the concert series with their performance on June 26 and Watford City native and well-known acoustic artist, Jessie Veeder, will perform a special, full-band concert on July 18.
Limited time pre-sale tickets are available now
All three concerts take place at 3:30pm MDT prior to that evening’s showing of the Medora Musical, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary Season all summer long.
A social media contest will be held to find one, lucky artist to open for Gwen Sebastian on July 4. Details of that contest will be available at facebook.com/MedoraND.
Sebastian’s duet single with Shelton, “My Eyes,” hit #1 on the Country Music Charts in 2014 and has sold over a half-million copies.
After years of touring, Sebastian got her big break on season two of NBC’s “The Voice”— where Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Adam Levine all fought to have her on their team – but her success didn’t stop there. Since the show, she’s toured with her coach, Blake, with country superstars Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley on the Locked and Reloaded tour, has played the Grand Ole Opry, and is currently on the road with Lambert before she heads to Medora. Sebastian’s duet single with Shelton, “My Eyes,” hit #1 on the Country Music Charts in 2014 and has sold over a half-million copies.
While Sebastian has performed and recorded with some of Country Music’s A-list, for her there’s nothing better than coming home. “Coming back and performing at home really is the highlight of the tour for me,” she says. “I love and am so thankful to be touring with Blake, and with Miranda, but there is something really special about performing for a theater full of friends and family and long-time supporters – you really want to put on a great show for them!
“And, growing up in Hebron, just down the road from Medora,” she continues, “if there was one stage you wanted to be on, as an artist, it was the stage of the Medora Musical, surrounded by the beautiful Badlands.”
The Hazen duo, Tigirlily, who opened for two sold-out shows in Medora last year, kick off the Medora Country Concert Series on June 26. Yet another example of great, home-grown talent from North Dakota, Tigirlily has toured continuously while producing new, original music over the last two years and may be poised to be the state’s next national sensation.
Their album “Victory,” which was released in June 2014, was charted at No. 33 in the Top Country Albums on iTunes and at No. 4 on Billboard Heatseekers.
Jessie Veeder will take the stage the afternoon of July 18. Veeder, who has performed nationally and received attention across the country for her recent single “Boom Town,” has become a state favorite for her heart-felt music and writing that encompasses the love of country life and her home in western North Dakota. In her words, she is excited to “kick it up a notch” when she brings a full band together for a special, exciting show featuring music from her brand new album “Northern Lights”.
