(Medora, ND) – The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) is pleased to announce that the 7th annual Wade Westin Music Fest will take place Sunday, September 6, on the Chuckwagon Patio in Historic Downtown Medora.
The event will feature performances by cast and band members of this year’s Medora Musical, as well as talented musicians who come to Medora to work on the production, and artists from around Western North Dakota. There will also be a special performance by Hannah and Wyatt Westin, Wade’s children, at 1:00 pm MDT.
Festival Time: 11:00am – 4:30pm MDT
Location: Chuckwagon Patio, Downtown Medora.
Special performance by Hannah and Wyatt Westin at 1:00pm MDT
The festival pays tribute to former Burning Hills Singer and host of the Medora Musical, Wade Westin, who passed away in 2009. Beginning in 1999, Westin starred in the Medora Musical for seven years. Two of those years he starred as the host of the show, known as “Gentleman Wade” – a moniker that fit him not only in the production but also in real life. His easy smile, pleasant and kind personality, and his Western-style made him the beloved face of Medora. In 2002, Westin became the full-time Marketing and Public Relations Director for TRMF.
TRMF President, Randy Hatzenbuhler commented, “Wade was an adored, wonderful part of Medora for many years. He was a great cast member of the Medora Musical, an absolutely wonderful husband and father, and someone we were all proud to call our colleague and friend.
With this event each year, we feel lucky to be able to keep his spirit and memory alive in Medora.”
The performances are free, but donations are accepted throughout the day at each year’s festival and are donated to a charity or good work of the Westin Family’ choosing. This year’s donations will go to the Canine Project at Home on the Range.
